Study - Draconis skeleton

Description

Did some more thinking and figured that one way ot understand how a Draconis moves and where all the muscle may go is to look at its skeleton. So I drew it.

I also wondered about the idea of hollow bones with scaffolding ( an early idea). At first I had considered an organic jumble but then I thought about the hexagonal structure of carbon nanotubes. So I decided to use that as a base. What I have drawn is not the ideal structure bit I think it could be a good approximation for what I had in mind.

Also this shows a second idea: It always bugged me how restrictive the wings were when it came to outfits, so connected to the tail are a pair of extra limbs designed to retract by aligning with the tail, pulling the elastic membrane with it. The tiny muscles that already exist underneath each scale ( a previous idea) would close up around stretched tissue to protect it from the elements. These limbs would be segmented so that when folded they do not restrict the motions of the tail.

I also moved the wings down to the midsection. I might still tweak a couple of the limbs os they can retain that huge wingspan of theirs,
