Draconid Imperium - Imperial Crest

A new version of the insignia of the Draconid Imperium, my personal fictional intergalactic empire from the Sporewiki Fiction Universe. This is a far cry fro mthe previous design which may have cropped up on this site once or twice.

The two dragon heads represent the Imperial mindset: One looking left (backwards) solemnly denotes how the Imperium values tradition and history, being mindful of the events of the past. The head on the right bares its teeth as it looks forward which denotes how society values being an oppertunist and to never sit back when you are dealt an unpleasant transaction. It also denotes how the Imperium always retaliates harshly to those who threaten it.

Dragons in the classical sense have a kind of divinity in Draconis culture, what with the Draconis' patron diety being an enormous drago nwith golden scales. The red, amber and blue tones each represent different things: THe red represents the red foliage of Alcanti as well as (like in human culture) being a colour of divinity. Red is also the tone of one of the three Draconis ethenicities, who typically have a volatile temprement. Amber is not only the colour of Drakon's scales but is also the main pigment of the Osillan Draconis. Who long ago were percieved as being scholarly. Blue is the pigment of the primary Draconis ethinicity, the supposed founders of the Imperium and traditionally martial.

The horned symbol in the centre has been part of the flag's design from day one and is a symbol of the Imperium's majesty. The spiral-like formation in the centre represents the Andromeda galaxy, a representation of the Imperium's "manifest destiny" belief regarding it's home galaxy.

The symbols at the botto mread "Vassh. crauss, vorss". Which means "Peace, pride, grace", a motto of the Imperium that reflects the citizenry's prideful and civilized opinion of themselves. The Imperial poplation - being one of the most culturally-sophisticated empires in the Andromeda galaxy - tend to have a lofty opinion of themselves.
